Highlanders fall 2–1 to Calhoun in third game in three days, snapping six-game win streak.
In their third game in as many days, the Highlanders fell 2–1 to Calhoun Community College, ending a six-game winning run in a hard-fought out-of-conference battle.
After two impressive wins earlier in the week, the Highlanders came up short on Friday against Calhoun Community College, falling 2–1 in their third match in three days.
Cara Bishop scored the lone goal for Gordon State, but it wasn't enough to overcome a physically demanding stretch that saw the Highlanders play back-to-back-to-back matches. It was not the team's typical high-energy, high-powered offensive display, as fatigue set in late.
Despite the defeat, the Highlanders showed resilience and fight throughout, capping an intense week that tested their endurance and team spirit.
Gordon State will now regroup and look to bounce back in front of the home crowd when they host Emory & Oxford on Wednesday, October 8th.
