Gordon State battled back twice to earn a dramatic 2–2 draw against Emory & Oxford, with a last-second equalizer from Elizabeth Cuviello capping off an emotional night at home
The Highlanders showed tremendous determination and fight in a thrilling 2–2 draw against Emory & Oxford on Wednesday evening.
After falling behind in the first half, Gordon struggled to find rhythm early as the Eagles' pressure and organization caused frustration. But momentum shifted after the break. In the 49th minute, Isabel Tressler produced a moment of brilliance — beating defenders on a solo run before finishing confidently to level the score at 1–1.
Emory & Oxford regained the lead through Claudia Fodor, who scored both goals for the visitors. Yet the Highlanders refused to quit. In the dying seconds, Elizabeth Cuviello found the equalizer, converting from close range to secure a deserved point for Gordon State.
The Highlanders dominated possession and chances throughout the second half, showcasing their resilience and attacking spirit.

The Highlanders will now turn their attention to a pivotal conference matchup against South Georgia State College, where they'll look to carry their second-half momentum and continue their strong conference push.
