Highlanders shine on Sophomore Night with 7–0 victory over Andrew College.
Gordon State closed out the regular season in style, earning a 7–0 win over Andrew College on Sophomore Night while honoring the nine sophomores who have helped shape the program.
It was a special night in Barnesville as the Highlanders celebrated their sophomore class and secured a convincing 7–0 win over Andrew.
During Half-Time, the program recognized nine sophomores for their commitment and impact over the past two years — Ashlynn Jones, Cara Bishop, Karissa Thompson, Isabel Tressler, Karecia Knight, Zipporah Cheeley, Tatianna McCoy, Sydney Flewellen, and Maci-Lauren Lanier.
While it wasn't the most complete performance of the season, the Highlanders still showed their quality across the pitch. The team combined well in attack, moved the ball with purpose, and created numerous chances throughout the match. Several players got on the scoresheet in what was a true team effort.
Defensively, Gordon stayed composed and organized, earning another clean sheet and limiting Andrew College to very few looks on goal.
The win not only capped off the regular season on a high note but also provided a fitting way to celebrate the sophomore class — a group that has led with resilience, passion, and pride in representing Gordon State College.
